Kate Hodgson and Justin McDonald launched Elevator Productions in Liverpool in 2017, uniting world-renowned talent with new voices, producing independent film and television with commercial appeal.
Their first short film 'A Modern Magician' featuring actor Brian Cox won several international awards and was selected in competition at many film festivals including Manchester International film festival (BIFA qualifying), Liverpool International film festival, Soho film festival New York, Dam Short film festival and Sci-Fi London.
Hitting the festival circuit next is short film 'Fist' written by the award winning Lee Mattinson and is being supported by the BFI Network. It is directed by Andrew McVicar whose work has screened at Venice and won Best British Short at the London Short Film Festival as well as Exec Produced by Jack Tarling who is a BAFTA-nominated, BIFA-winning producer who won the Empire Award for Best British Film, the Evening Standard Award for Best Film and awards from Sundance, Edinburgh and Berlin film festivals for feature film 'Gods Own Country'.
Elevator's next short film 'Nettle Day' starring Kate Dickie is written and directed by Jack Nicholls and co-directed by Andy Berriman and will be shooting summer 2022.
Alumni of Creative UK's Creative Enterprise scheme, Elevator Productions are planning steps towards their first feature film with a slate of scripted projects that are in development for film and television.
